Privacy Policy

Blurn is an iPhone app run by LEX PROXIMA STUDIOS LTD, and we are responsible for your personal data. This page explains what we collect, why, who we share it with and what your rights are. Our Terms of Use apply alongside it.

1. What we collect

  • Guest account: when you first open Blurn we create a guest account with a random ID. You don't need to give a name or email.
  • Sign in with Apple: your Apple user ID and, if you choose to share it, your email address (this can be an Apple private relay address).
  • Email sign-in: your email address and the one-time codes we send to it.
  • Profile: your name, @handle, bio and avatar.
  • Photos and results: the photos you send to an AI look and the AI results, which are stored in your account. Photos you edit only with local tools stay on your device until you publish them.
  • Posts: the images you publish, their recipe if you leave it open, their AI label and when you published them.
  • Likes and follows: the posts you like and the accounts you follow.
  • Safety records: the reports you send or receive and the accounts you block.
  • Purchases: your subscription status, purchase history, credit balance and credit history, which we receive from Apple and RevenueCat. We never see your card details.
  • Technical data: server logs (such as IP address, request time and app version) for security and fixing problems, and your push token if you allow notifications.

We don't collect your location or contacts. Blurn only reads the photos you pick.

2. Why we use it

  • To provide Blurn: run your account, make the looks you ask for, store your results and show the posts you publish. Legal basis: our contract with you.
  • To process your photos with AI, only after you agree. Legal basis: your consent.
  • To handle subscriptions and credits. Legal basis: our contract with you and our legal obligations.
  • To keep Blurn safe: check published images for prohibited content, review reports and stop abuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interests and legal obligations.
  • To answer your support requests and to tell you when a result is ready, if you allow notifications.

We don't sell your data, we don't use it for advertising and we don't use your photos to train AI models.

3. AI processing

When you choose an AI look, the photo you picked and that look's instructions are sent to Wiro (wiro.ai), our AI intermediary. Wiro makes the result with models from OpenAI or Google, depending on the look, and sends it back to us. Your name, email and account details are not sent.

This happens only after you agree on the consent screen that Blurn shows before your first AI request. You can withdraw your consent at any time in Settings → AI data consent. AI looks then stop working, while local tools keep working. Our server rejects AI requests from accounts without consent.

These providers process your photo only to make your result. They may keep a copy for a limited time under their own terms, for example to monitor abuse.

4. Who we share it with

We work with these service providers. Each one processes your data only to provide its service to us:

  • Wiro, OpenAI and Google: AI processing, as described above.
  • Hetzner (Germany): hosts our servers. Your account, database and files are stored there in Appwrite, which we run ourselves.
  • RevenueCat: checks and records your App Store purchases. It receives a random user ID and your purchase records.
  • Apple: Sign in with Apple, App Store payments and delivery of push notifications.
  • Resend: sends sign-in codes by email. It receives your email address and the code.

Your published posts, name, @handle, bio and avatar are public: other Blurn users can see them, and anyone with a post's link can see it on the web at blurn.app. Other Blurn users can also see how many likes a post has, your follower and following counts, and who follows whom. We share data with authorities only when the law requires it.

5. No ads, no tracking

Blurn shows no ads and doesn't track you across other companies' apps or websites. The app contains no analytics or advertising SDKs. These web pages set no cookies and use no analytics.

6. International transfers

Some of our providers, such as OpenAI and Google, may process data outside the UK, the EU and Türkiye, for example in the United States. We make these transfers with the safeguards that data protection law requires, such as standard contractual clauses.

7. How long we keep it

  • Your account, profile, results and posts are kept until you delete them or delete your account.
  • Server logs are kept for a short time and then deleted.
  • If we close an account for breaking our rules, we may keep a minimal record to stop the same person coming back.
  • Apple and RevenueCat keep purchase records under their own legal obligations.

8. Deleting your account

You can delete your account in Blurn under Settings → Delete account. This works for guest accounts too. Your profile, posts, photos, AI results, likes, follows and credits are deleted permanently, and the app returns to a fresh start.

You can also email support@lexproximastudios.com and we'll delete your account within 30 days.

Deleting your account doesn't cancel an App Store subscription. Cancel it on your iPhone in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

9. Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law (UK GDPR and GDPR) and Türkiye's KVKK, you have the right to access your data and get a copy, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, move it to another service, and withdraw your consent at any time.

To use these rights, write to support@lexproximastudios.com. We reply within 30 days.

If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to a data protection authority: the ICO in the UK, your local authority in the EU, or the KVKK Authority in Türkiye.

10. Children

Blurn is not for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from them, and if we find such an account we delete it.

11. Security

Your data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Only our servers can access the database and files. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We'll tell you about important changes in the app. The date at the top shows the latest version.
